Chalkey Water Meadows

I recently had the pleasure of being back at the beautiful Chalkney Water Meadows wedding venue near Colchester, Essex.

When Heather and Matthew first told me that this was their chosen venue I was sooo happy! Not only is this venue just stunning and surrounded by beauty, there’s always a really lovely intimate feel to the space that feels so personal to each couple.

An ancient woodland, bordered by a peaceful river and tree-lined lake, a lakeside willow pontoon for the ceremony, bell tents for guests to stay in and luxurious lakeside cabins for couples or family/friends to enjoy. Doesn’t that sound dreamy!

Heather and Matthew only wanted a couple of hours coverage, starting with their own vowels and a traditional hand fastening ceremony, followed by some groups shots, a few couple portraits and of course candid photos of them with their guests. It was such a lovely, relaxed afternoon!

If you’re looking for a natural, relaxed and outdoorsy wedding venue in Essex which oozes beauty then I would definitely recommend viewing Chalkney Water Meadows! The Browning Bro wedding staff are also so lovely which is always a massive plus.
