A beautiful East Mersea Hall Summer Wedding
I recently photographed a very special Wedding at East Mersea Hall Wedding Venue in Mersea, Essex! What made it so special is that it was for my lovely friends big day!
East Mersea Hall had been on my bucket list for a while so I was so excited when Abbi an Steve told me this was where they were getting married!
Even before I reached the venue, driving onto the island felt special in itself! I was greeted by the lovely Jess who Wedding co-ordinates at East Mersea Hall. She made everything so easy and relaxed but equally made sure the timings of the day were on point!
Not long after arriving at the venue, the heavens opened! Luckily East Mersea Hall have a lovely indoor ceremony room which we used and their dense woodland area with pretty fairy lights meant we could do some couple portraits even when it was spitting and not get wet! It all worked out perfectly!
I was so excited to look around the venue and pick out different spots for the couple portraits. One that I’m sure attracts most people to this venue, is the lake and that the couple can row the boat. This makes the most stunning, magical photos!
Abbi didn’t want many getting ready photos, just a few to capture pre ceremony. She looked absolutely stunning! Her makeup, hair and dress was just so perfect!! I also managed to capture her little boys natural reaction to seeing her in her dress. This wasn’t a planned shot so I was so happy I was in the right spot at the right time - you’ll see below, his face was priceless bless him!
The day unfolded beautifully starting with their incredible ceremony. I guess because I know Abbi and Steve so well and had family and friends there it naturally felt extra special and it was just so heartfelt as they said their vows to each other!
Following the ceremony was the drinks reception where I captured the confetti shot, group photos, couple portraits and of course natural, candid shots of the guests.
Also the rain had stopped at this point and the sun made an appearance which we were very happy about!
What I love so much about East Mersea Hall is how magical it feels. For me it has everything you’d want from a venue in one space. The Lake, the walled garden, the woodland area, an outdoor seating space with fairy lights everywhere, lots of space on the lawn for garden games and a lovely indoor wedding breakfast and dance floor space which you can choose to decorate as much as you wish to put your stamp on it.
After the drinks reception it was soon time for the speeches which then moved onto the wedding breakfast which was so delicious!
Moving into the evening they did their first dance and which then flowed into everyone joining them on the dance floor - some of my favourite shots to get! It’s so entertaining watching people’s dance moves and just let loose!
This was such a highlight of my year being apart of such an incredible day for my wonderful friends! It was just so perfect!
